

The Bird Academy, a vibrant vertical of the highly reputed Bird Group,
having interest in Travel, Technology, Cargo Management, Airport
Handling, Retail, Hospitality and BPO Sector organized a Certificate
Award Ceremony on 21st November 2009 for its students who
successfully completed
the IATA Certified Courses namely – IATA GDS Fares and Ticketing,
IATA/UFTAA Foundation and IATA /UFTAA Consultant. The auspicious
occasion was graced by Mrs. Radha Bhatia,
Chairperson, Bird Group; Dr. S. Chandra, Chief Mentor, Bird Academy, and
Ms. Anju Varma, Manager along with the Faculty Members. Ms. Anju Varma
welcomed the Guests and briefly spoke about the
Programmes. Speaking at the occasion, Mrs. Bhatia said “Training has
been very dear to my heart and it has been my constant effort to be an
active participant in the field of education. Bird Academy has always
aimed at delivering high quality learning and equip the students with
highly relevant professional knowledge and facilitates skill
development of human resource in the rapidly growing aviation, travel
and tourism industry”. Mrs. Bhatia congratulated the students and wished them
good luck for a bright future. As an inspiring leader she had an open
house with the students and asked the students to share their
experiences and offer suggestions for further enrichment of the
programmes. The students expressed their sense of happiness and pride on

confidence to break every barrier of communication is an advantage not

corporate world having sharp communication skills is an essential
prerequisite. Keeping this in view, Bird Academy has introduced a new
course entitled Spoken English and Effective
Communication for all who are looking to

Academy is planning to spread its wings and reach out to all corners of
the country. According to Dr. S. Chandra, Chief Mentor, Bird Academy
which was targeting class XII students earlier is now exploring
possibilities of offering opportunities to Graduates, Post Graduates and
in-service personnel as well as
in Government and Industry. After a successful launch of the Training Academy in
Mumbai last year, the Academy has already set
up Centres in Chandigarh. Jaipur,
Kolkata, Nagpur and Bengaluru are on the anvil. Bird

According
to The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), International
Air Transport Association (IATA) and The Director General of Civil
Aviation (DGCA) of India, it is mandatory that Shippers, Packers,
Freight Forwarders, Operator’s and Ground handling Agents who are
handling dangerous goods must undergo Dangerous Goods Training
Programme. Bird Academy which is an IATA & DGCA approved training
centre, has been conducting DGR training for the last several years
and has successfully trained more than 1049 candidates in various
categories such as 1,3 6,9,10,11,12,7,8.
Bird
Academy and Delhi University successfully complete specialized Travel
& Tourism Courses
Bird Education Society for Travel and Tourism in
conjunction with Delhi University (DU) through Campus of Open Learning
(COL) successfully completed the first batch of a specialized Travel
& Tourism and CRS Course. The classes were held at Centre for
Professional & Technical Training, COL, Keshavpuram, New Delhi. In light of the continued demand from the industry at large, the course were designed to equip aspiring students with requisite skills to pursue careers in the travel and tourism domain.
